Ben was born inHopkinsville, Kentuckyon December 26, 1949. He was admitted to the bar in 1975. Ben was also admitted to practice before U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit; U.S. District Courts, Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and Middle District of Tennessee; U.S. Court of Military Appeals. He had preparatory education at the University of Kentucky (B.A., 1972); legal education at the University of Kentucky College of Law (J.D., 1974). He became the city Attorney of Hopkinsville, Kentucky in 1986. Ben is the Chairman, Board of Directors, Planters Bank, Inc. (1996-current).
